Who should attend?

Anyone who works with children and youth, whether in a school, family-serving organization, faith-based community, parents, relatives, or friends of teens.

Relationships matter! Join Derek Peterson, internationally renowned youth development expert, to learn how to amplify each youth’s strengths and help them self-activate their complex system of support.

Based on extensive social-emotional and other research, this workshop will equip you with innovative tools and strategies to help youth build protective factors to mitigate trauma and decrease risk behaviors, such as bullying, drugs, alcohol, suicidal ideation, and more.

Using a strengths-based approach, you will learn to recognize, appreciate, and magnify what is right about youth, assuring their chance to flourish.

During this interactive two-day workshop, you will

✓Learn about a framework that builds Webs of Support to help students thrive socially, emotionally, and academically;

✓Apply proven practices that will encourage positive outcomes and decrease negative behaviors;

✓Receive tools and practice tangible strategies for connecting with all students, including those with trauma and other challenges, to enable them to positively engage.

✓Learn how to collaborate beyond the classroom and throughout the community to deepen connections with youth, change social norms, and provide a common, easy-to-share language that focuses on support and connectedness;

✓Discover the online Student Support Card assessment, identifying strengths and empowering students for growth.

  • Student only (high school or college): $79 until 1/15 then $89

  • Adult + Youth together: $320 until 1/15 then $415
